Alcatel (US) Award for Achievement (1998)
The Award was presented during an Awards Dinner held at Palazzo Parisio in Naxxar. The presentation followed a three day conference which was attended by over 120 international delegates. During the conference two local Customer Testimonials were addressed. These were presented by Mr. Stephen Camilleri, Network Manager at AirMalta and Mr. Goran Kovacevic, Consultant at Bank of Valletta.
Ten out of over 100 Alcatel partners across Europe were selected as the recipients of the Alcatel Award for Outstanding Achievement. The Southern European Award was presented to Mr. Andrew Borg, Network Services Director of Computime Ltd. by Mr. Renee Arvin, International Vice President and Mr. Moreno Ciboldi, Southern European Manager.
Mr. Ciboldi said that although the size of the Maltese market cannot be compared with other large countries, the Alcatel reference sites in Malta compare very well with others especially in terms of the demands required from such corporate networks and the level of sophistication implemented. The performance of our local partners Computime, the local pioneers of high speed corporate networking, their marketing efforts, and high level of technical support, are to be commended. The recent acquisition of Xylan by Alcatel has provided Alcatel with a superior portfolio of data switching equipment and a fast-growing position in the enterprise data market. Computime is now an Alcatel Business Partner.
