Change Director - Another international project for Computime


Computime have embarked on another international software development venture - ChangeDirector. Computime are one of the three founding partners in a UK based company, ChangeDirector UK Ltd. The principle objective of this venture is to develop a class-leading software application that supports the process of Business Change Management. The backbone of ChangeDirector is a methodology that defines the seven major steps in the creation and execution of business strategy.

ChangeDirector is suitable for all types of organisations that "have a need to align business change initiatives to strategic objectives", would like to measure the benefits accruing from these projects and need to provide broad, top-down visibility and understanding of the status of change projects to people in top management.

The venture has gone from strength to strength. We participated in the Project World exhibition in Birmingham last November, and once again in London last March. In Malta, we have now finalised the first commercialised version of the software and this was released from QA on the 12th March. In addition, we have recently signed up our first customer, Swiss Life (UK) (www.swisslife.co.uk).
Computime were considered an ideal technology partner because of our strong technical ability and highly flexible workforce, coupled with a relatively economical cost base in comparison with many other countries. In addition Malta enjoys extremely easy access from the United Kingdom, and of course language is not a problem.
Some three years ago, Computime had embarked on their first major international software development venture.In conjunction with a UK partner, Computime had developed SunSystems i2i: a browser-based front end to SunSystems. This application, which was developed in Java, web-enabled the hitherto local area network only application. The intellectual property rights in i2i were acquired by Systems Union in April 2001 and onward development and support of i2i is now controlled by Systems Union.
ChangeDirector is the brainchild of ex-Ernst & Young UK consultant, Andrew Hudson. Andrew is an experienced change management and process re-engineering professional. He has worked as a management consultant in many industry sectors including Insurance, Banking, Aerospace and Telecoms. Prior to forming ChangeDirector in 2002, Andrew worked for seven years as a consultant with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and for nine years with Rolls-Royce Aerospace in Derby.

As a result of his involvement in helping organisations in the planning and execution of strategic change initiatives, Andrew recognised that there was a potentially strong demand for a software application that these organisations could use to manage their portfolio of business change initiatives. As a result of this, ChangeDirector UK Ltd. was born, founded by Andrew Hudson, Simon Lea (who is now responsible for Marketing and Sales), and Computime (who are responsible for product design, development and testing).
